Blessed with picturesque peaks in the north, idyllic islands in the south, and Bangkok, the kinetic capital in between, Thailand continues to astonish. Into the bargain, Thailand remains affordable. For visitors the crime rate is low and the fun factor is high.

WHEN TO GO
Thailand’s tropical climate is divided into three seasons that could be called hot, very hot, and pretty hot with a chance of rain. How they boil down is like this. From November to early February is the cooler and most hospitable season. The sweltering season, with temperatures rising to 35-Celsius plus, runs from February to April, while the soggy season goes from around June to October (September tends to the rainiest month). Even the low season attracts many visitors, drawn by the cheaper prices for accommodations, the less crowded beaches and museums, and the moody beauty of the surroundings when even the rainclouds have silver linings of sunshine.
