FOR MOST FREQUENT TRAVELERS, it’s all about the points. Which means that in this year of closed borders, lots of people’s loyalty accounts are all plumped up with nowhere to go.

Marriott Bonvoy has an answer, with its catch-them-if-you-can Week of Wonders running through October 15. Under such Wonder-ful themes as Comfort, Rejuvenation and Inspiration, the gargantuan global hotel family that includes The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, JW Marriott, The Luxury Collection, Le Meridien and Sheraton, among sundry others, has come up with creative and heavily discounted ways to relieve you of your pent-up points.

Book rooms for 33 percent off standard rates and eat in their 2,700 F&B outlets for a 30-percent discount. New bookings come with 2,500 bonus points, provided you act now. (Last-minute weekend staycation, anyone?) For every point you buy above 2,000, you get 50 percent more as bonus. And there are chances to win 1 million Marriott Bonvoy points as well as free hotel stays around the world. More out-of-the-box options include a sweepstakes to have your name in lights, Beckham-style i.e., up on the boards at a Manchester United game.

There’s even a special section of deals for travel in Thailand. For stays now through March 31, 2021, rates come with free upgrades, hotel credits, bonus points, free cancellation, and more–perfect for domestic Thai travel staycationers and their optimistic Asian neighbors alike.

Of course, since we’re all still going to be spending most of our time at home, the perk that has really hooked us is the 30 percent discount off shopping from these five-star brands. Lather yourself in Le Labo amenities from Edition Hotels, spritz with The Ritz-Carlton Fragrance Collection, wrap yourself in a W Hotel robe and climb into your Westin Heavenly Bed covered in sumptuous St. Regis Frette Collection sheets. Who needs hotels anyway? (Kidding, guys.)
