With the wooden scales on the outside of the restaurant, tiled mosaics of fish and bubble-shaped lighting, Nahmyaa, COMO Yamu Point’s Thai dinner restaurant, elegantly resembles a goldfish bowl. Though, thankfully, executive chef Steven Black has not included any of the little orange swimmers are on the menu. Here, its refined-but-still-hardy Thai food using fresh, local ingredients. Chef Black, an Australian native, has experience in several top restaurants across Europe and in his home country. He has received accolades like the Chef of the Year by the Australian Hotel Association, and more. At Nahmyaa, the chef offers both a set and a la carte menu. We recommend you go for the set, which is made for sharing and includes highlights like khanom bueang (spiced coconut wafers with braised duck) and an unforgettable crab curry. The restaurant also offers a solid list of wines, including a few from Thai vineyard Monsoon Valley that are surprisingly delicious.
