The Best Yoga Mats for Working Out at Home

Give your "home gym" an upgrade. By Madeline Diamond

Jan 29, 2021

WHILE MANY GYMS AND FITNESS STUDIOS are closed due to COVID-19, that doesn’t mean you can’t still get a good workout in. It just might have to happen in your living room. If you’re taking a virtual yoga or pilates class, or even just flowing on your own time, a good yoga mat is a must-have. Even if you have a good travel mat, you might want a relatively thicker, more supportive (and sometimes slightly less portable) option for at-home use.

When shopping, you’ll want to consider the thickness of the mat (typically measured in millimeters) and how much cushion you’ll want, as well as other helpful features, like non-slip grips and anti-microbial coatings.

Keep reading for more on our favorite yoga mats.

Plus, it’s available in 11 colors, so you can be sure to find a mat that matches your home gym (or living room).
