SOMETIMES YOU JUST WANT TO EAT STEAK, no white table clothes or mega-high prices attached. See Meatchop Butcher & Spirits, a design-y restaurant in Bangkok‘s on-the-rise Saladaeng neighborhood. The meaty rustic fare here ranges from 45-day dry-aged prime ribeye to slabs of bone marrow (best accompanied by their homemade bread) to chunky bolognese with wagyu rump. The high ceiling, open kitchen and subtle powder-pink and wood accents add to the space’s laid-back, big-city loft feel. Plus, a signature drink menu with picks like the El Pepino—a drinkable mix of tequila, dry vermouth, elderflower and cucumber bitter—will have you contemplating multi-cocktails on a weeknight (a prospect that isn’t helped by their enticing happy hour deals).
