LET’S FACE IT: the festive season may be one of the merriest times of the year, but it isn’t exactly the healthiest. No matter which holidays you celebrate, this is a time for ordering an extra glass of pét-nat, for piling on an extra helping of roast beef, for staying up an extra hour because the dance floor is just too good to leave. That spirit of good-natured excess may be fun, but it can really throw your mind-body alignment out of whack. That’s why the three-day Wellness Festival at The Peninsula Bangkok, December 2-4 couldn’t come at a better time – or a better price, i.e. free!

The festival features daily itineraries packed with all sorts of complimentary classes to eat, work out, and live better. Since everything here is taught by experts in their fields, you’ll know that you’re in the very best of hands. Instructors include a renowned mindfulness practitioner, an ordained Buddhist monk, and all manner of top-flight fitness coaches, chefs, and more. It’s the ideal way to get your glow on and find your center before the festive season. (See entire schedule of events below.)

To get participants into shape, there’s a whole string of fitness classes, including Barre by Kru Chao, MMA Workouts by Rika Ishige, Yoga Flow, and Aqua Fit classes in the pools. Melt off body fat in the Drop It Like It’s Hot! or build concentration, coordination, and physical-mental synchronicity with qigong.

For those looking to find some much-needed Zen before holiday stress, The Peninsula festival caters to your emotional wellness with a Bangkok bent, such as guided meditations with a Buddhist monk, sound therapy, mindfulness courses, and much more. And for anyone looking to build healthier eating habits, there are plant-based cooking classes, smoothie-making sessions, and even a sourdough starter class.

Let The Peninsula Bangkok Wellness Festival serve as a preview for all the holistic healing available at the hotel, and if your palate is primed, sign up for the three-day Active Body & Healthy Mind package. The package, which starts at Bt28,000++ per person or Bt45,000++ for two, includes two nights in a Deluxe Room with flexible 24-hour check-in and check-out, full board including a range of yummy plant-based-dish options, a whopping five complimentary spa treatments at The Peninsula Spa, up to five exercise classes, including yoga, pilates, Muay Thai, tennis, HIIT, pilates, Aqua Yoga and Aqua Fit, as well as one mindful breathwork class.

In a season of indulgence, The Peninsula Bangkok Wellness Festival offers both a welcome respite and reset button. That being said, it’s also proof that wellness itself can feel incredibly indulgent.

Here’s the line-up for The Peninsula Bangkok Wellness Festival 2021. All activities are complimentary, but advance reservations are required.
