This year’s World’s Best Awards survey closed on March 2, just before widespread stay-at-home orders were implemented due to COVID-19. The results, therefore, reflect our readers’ experiences before the pandemic. We hope that this year’s honorees will inspire your trips to come—whenever they may be.
1. Singapore Changi Airport
Anyone surprised that Singapore Airlines has been voted best carrier on Earth for the 25th year running—read: all the years of WBA—hasn’t been paying close enough attention to the skies. Impeccable service and innovative offerings make taking both quick hops and the world’s longest flight (Singapore to Newark) more treat than chore. Couple that with the fact that SQ’s homebase is uber-efficient Changi, named the world’s top airport, with its lush, jungle-playground-mall Jewel there to make layovers great again, and you’re packed and ready, aren’t you?
Since the 2019 debut of Jewel—an impressive entertainment complex, complete with a 40-meter-tall indoor waterfall—this hub has given travelers ample reason to extend their stopovers or to arrive extra early for their flights.
